Auto CPAP ventilators (also called APAP ventilators) can automatically increase/decrease air pressure depending on the level of apnea of the user. When apnea occurs, the machine will increase the air pressure to just enough to adjust the apnea. When the apnea stops, the machine will decrease the air pressure to a low level for the user to be more comfortable.
In each breath, the machine also has a feature to reduce the air pressure a little when exhaling, helping to exhale more gently. The level of reduction is from 1 to 3 cmH2O. The machine automatically detects and synchronizes with the user’s breathing rate.
Auto CPAP ventilators are suitable for most users. In particular, ResMed is also very subtle when producing products specifically for women because their breath and sensations will be more sensitive than men’s.
